Micro plastic lens supports the devices with smaller formfactor and more functions with performance superior to glass lens. The lens has been used in cellphone cameras, CD/DVD drive in computers and A/V devices, on-board camears in automotive sector and is expanding to more broad application.
In response to demands from these markets, Maxell Finetech has ramped up consistent production system for high performance plastic lens from combination of the company's unique technology in molding, thin layer coating, and core technology of tool making in nano-meter scale. As exampled by the success of development in the liquid injection molding (LIM) of thermo-resistive plastics, Maxell Finetech has been expanding its share by constantly developing new technologies.

Optical Components Made of Hard Silicone
High refraction and heat resistivity make hard silicone a very favorable material for LED lens. However, its properties as being liquid and thermoset material require special knowledge and technique in tool making and molding process.
Maxell Finetech has been building up knowledgebase in tooling, molding and supporting process. Several patents have been applied and some are registered internationally.
The development is still on-going to expand the application furthermore.
