Available Optical Material

Maxell Finetech is capable of mass producing optical components with wide range of material including thermoplastic, hard silicone, glass and other materials suiting your requirements.

Available materials

Hard silicone, acrylic or polycarbonate plastic and glass

Hard Silicone Lens

Maxell Finetech is mass producing high performance optical lens with hard silicone.

Hard silicone lens made by Maxell Finetech:

Durable to high temperature, making it possible to be input into re-flow process (up to 300 degrees celsius).

Possible to have very fine structures for more performance.

Possessing good weather resistance (durable against ultra-violet light).

Ultrasonic Releasing Technology

Compared with other materials, silicone has better thermo-resistivy and other properties beneficial for making optical components for LED applications. However, it also has brittleness that causes difficultiness in mass production process.
Maxell Finetech has been developing various special mass production process, one of which is ultra-sonic releasing technology (in injection molding process), producing hard to mold silicone lenses with precise optical profiles.

Ultra-Sonic Releasing Technology (awarded with The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the Third Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award)

Regular Technique:
Forcing out lens with ejector pins.
Regular Technique: Forcing out lens with ejector pins. (Lens breaks when releasing.)
New Technique:
Releasing with ultra-sonic vibration.
New Technique:Releasing with ultra-sonic vibration. (Whole part to be released with ultra-sonic vibration.)

Maxell Finetech can mass produce lenses with Fresnel and other complicated shape with hard silicone.
