1. Fundamental Philosophy
Hitachi Maxell Group shall contribute to the society by providing superior technologies and products to people in the world. The group understands that the conservation of global environment deserves critical attention from every human being on the globe. As a member of the society, Hitachi Maxell Group shall place high priority on "Harmony with Environment" in the company's strategy and shall act accordingly.
2. Fundamental Policy
1) Hitachi Maxell Group shall evaluate the environmental impact of its business activities, those being procurement, design, manufacuter, sales and related services regarding recording media, battery, material/device and electrical appliance, and shall establish the environmental object and target that are technically and economically feasible. The group shall periodically review the said object and target, implementing the never-ending improvement on environment management system and its performance.
2) Hitachi Maxell Group shall focus on preventing contamination of the environment and shall follow the environmental laws, regulations, and other requirements that the group self-determined to follow. The group shall establish company standards necessary to improve the emvironmental management.
3) To help building a sustainable society, Hitachi Maxell Group shall focus on following important aspects to faciliate activities for improvement.
a) Eco-Mind & Global Environmental Management
Hitachi Maxell Group shall foster the Eco-Mind and the power to turn this mind into action throughout the group, so to construct and operate management system and evaluation system working globally.
b) Provision of Next Generation Products and Services
Hitachi Maxell Group shall focus on development of the next generation products and technologies highly conscious to the environment. The group shall promote the global penetration of such products and services.
c) Eco-Freindly Factories and Offices.
Hitachi Maxell Group shall implement activities to prevent the global warming and to recycle the resources. The group shall promote furnishing its business facilities with less impact on the envivonment.
d) Cooperation with Stakeholders.
With broader communication with the stakeholders, the group shall tackle the environmental issues by building up effective partnership.
